Effect of photocatalyst spray paint on human
Route for entering human body
ARC-FLASH photocatalyst spray paint atomised to fine mist with the specific spray gun. The air inside the bubble will evaporate the volatile solvent, leaving the binder resin and the titanium oxide on the bubble surface. If the bubble do not come into contact within the first few second, the bubble will burst and turn into fine dust. The dust might enter the human body by inhalation.
Acute inhalation
- Titanium dioxide is non toxic even on occupational exposure
- It is classified as non-irritant aerosol
- High dose exposure might stimulate cough, which is rapidly reversible
Acute direct contact
- Skin:It will not be absorbed through skin, nor as an irritant
- Eye:Might illict blinking, foreign body sensation and tearing, as seen in other inert foreign body innoculation
- Oral:Non toxic
Chronic inhalation
- Might predispose pleural thickening
- Might increase bronchial secretion
- These features are reversible
